The Blessed One journeys to Benares and stays at the Migadaya; a Bhikkhu with a torn under-robe thinks of inserting a slip of cloth to make the robe double around the edge and single in the middle.

The passage approves repair of a torn robe and instructs monks to seek material from dust-heap rags or bazaar bits, with slips, patches, and darns permitted.
