Hesiod avoids the Peloponnesus but stays at Oenoe in Locris, also called sacred to Nemean Zeus; young men suspect him, kill him, and cast him into the sea; dolphins return his body on the third day; Zeus sinks the fleeing assassins with a thunderbolt in Alcidamas' account.
After Hesiod is killed and cast into the sea, dolphins bring his body to land on the third day.
