Altuntschatscha stops Kitschüw from attacking directly and tells him to kill a fish, find a box in it containing Ajdaha’s soul, remove it, and then cut off Ajdaha’s heads to free her.
Ajdaha cannot be killed directly because his soul is in a box inside a fish; Kitschüw destroys the separated soul before cutting off the heads.
