After the milk-rice meal, the Bodisat throws a golden vessel into the river as a sign; it moves upstream, reaches Kāḷa Nāgarāja's palace, strikes bowls of three previous Buddhas, and the snake-king says another Buddha has arisen.
A snake-king receives the vessel in his palace, interprets the sound as the arising of another Buddha, and praises him; a Nāga king later also praises the Great Being.
