    Diarmuid meets Finn alone on Beinn Gulbain. Finn says a hound followed a wild boar, the boar has often escaped the Fianna and killed thirty that morning, and identifies it as the earless Green Boar by which Diarmuid will die. Finn says Angus had put bonds on Diarmuid not to hunt pigs. Diarmuid refuses to leave and accuses Finn of arranging the hunt for his death.

    Finn warns Diarmuid about the boar and advises retreat, while Diarmuid accuses Finn of making the hunt for his death.
