The blind, lame, sick, and the addressed believers may eat in their own houses, relatives’ houses, houses whose keys they possess, or friends’ houses, and may eat together or separately.
The passage permits eating with or in the houses of listed persons, and translator notes say the rule addressed scruples or superstitions about eating with maimed or sick people and with others.
